Got Flu? Stay Home!
With flu season upon us, it's important that we all do our part to help minimize the spread of germs. That includes avoiding contact with others when you're sick. So please, if you're not feeling well, help us by seeing your doctor, and by not bringing germs into CACIL. It's better for everyone if you stay home and recover, preventing the spread of your illness to others.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Let's all do our part to make this flu season as short as possible!

The Capital Area Center for Independent Living (CACIL) was established in 1976 to empower people
with disabilities to take control of their lives. Independent Living is the principle that
individuals with any disability, to the fullest extent possible, shall work, live in their own
homes, raise families, and participate in the everyday activities of life.
CACIL is one of nearly four hundred Independent Living Centers (CILs) around the country that
were created under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and funded by the taxpayers of America. These
centers can be easily distinguished from other service agencies by the extent of involvement of
people with disabilities. CILs have a majority of people with disabilities on their governing
boards, and they hire qualified people with disabilities to fill management and service delivery
positions.
